We are getting back to blogging after taking a 6-week siesta. We stayed in Miami at Dinner Key Marina from Dec. 12 until Jan. 22. We waited somewhat impatiently for a weather window to go to The Bahamas; waiting for the Northerlys to calm down in the Florida Strait between us and The Bahamas; also waiting for our COVID tests.
We were in Miami because Sheri and Steven live there. If you don’t know, Sheri is Lesley’s sister and Steven is her brother-in-law. Steven works from home as a magistrate judge in the Florida family courts. Because of COVID, the court house is in the dining room. He puts on his robe during work and when hearing cases.
We spent many holidays with Sheri and Steven. We started with Hannukah, then Christmas, then New Year’s, then their anniversary. We stayed at their home when the winds were high and the weather was cold. It was great seeing them.
We visited Vizcaya, a beautiful home built by James Deering, the founder of International Harvester. We also went to Wildwood and saw the amazing graffiti art and murals for which the area is famous.
Fun In Viscaya and Winwood.

We were able to meet our grandnephew Ryan. Their parents Samantha and Eric drove from Tampa. What a treat! Ryan is an absolute joy. New years eve, we played Monopoly to say goodbye to 2020.
We got to know Coconut Grove well. We had a favorite Indian Restaurant, Sushi place, and of course Monty’s.
After one month on the mooring in Dinner Key, we anchored out, only a couple hundred feet from our mooring. After getting our COVID test, filling up our freezer and refrigerator, and getting the right weather window, we crossed to the Bahamas on January 22.
