Exploring the creeks less taken

From Solomon’s Island, we headed south to Reedville.  Reedville, VA is a 40 mile travel, taking most of the day.   The winds were non existent.  So the motor was working overtime.  We saw fighter jets coming from the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.  We also saw the target in the middle of the bay.

We arrived in Reedville, and used our trusty book, Sailor Bob’s guide to anchoring.  We travelled past the factory that makes fish oils, and up a creek, up another creek, and finally to the point that Sailor Bob recommends.  We were the only boat on anchor, in MUD in front of people’s homes.  The sight was so beautiful, looking like a picture from a 1000 piece puzzle.

The next morning, we went down another creek, to pump out, gas up and get water.

A short 25 miles of motoring down the Chesapeake, we were in Deltaville.  We anchored in Jackson Creek (another creek) in MUD again.   A lovely night on the anchorage.   We explored the sparse town of Deltaville, where we were successful in a marine consignment store, bought fresh crab cakes and fresh tuna in a fish market, and even found a wooden spoon to stir the coffee at the hardware store.   Another easy night on anchor, before we head to Hampton, VA.
